The beacon, as per ICAO rule, emits a WHITE flash coded as letter “H” of Morse Code. - A Helihoist light should be used to inform helicopter pilot if a wind turbine (suitable for hoist activities with qualified personnel) is in a safety condition to begin winching operations for technical staff and operators or not:
• GREEN Steady: wind turbine is secure for operation
• GREEN Flashing (120fpm): wind turbine is in preparation to accept hoist operation or during operation parameters are moving out of limits
• Light Off: wind turbine is not safe for conducting operations - The FAA Heliport beacon shall be provided at heliports intended for use at night and that cannot be easily identified from the air by other means. Light: WHITE/AMBER/GREEN – Alternate flashing
