The Wind Monitor is a high performance wind sensor. Rugged, corrosion-resistant construction makes it ideal for a wide range of wind measuring applications.

The wind speed sensor is a four blade helicoid propeller. Propeller rotation produces an AC sine wave voltage signal. The wind direction sensor is a rugged yet lightweight vane. Vane angle is sensed by a precision potentiometer. Constructed of UV stabilized plastic with stainless steel and anodized aluminum fittings, the sensor mounts on standard 1 inch pipe.

Model 05103V offers calibrated 0-5 VDC outputs,

Model 05103L provides a calibrated 4-20 mA current signal for each channel.

Marine Wind Monitor

The Wind Monitor MA is an accurate and reliable wind sensor specifically designed for the rigors of the marine environment.

The wind speed sensor is a four blade helicoid propeller. Unique transducer produces a pulse signal without electrical contacts or slip rings. The wind direction sensor is a durable molded vane. Vane angle is sensed by a precision potentiometer housed in a sealed chamber. All materials are carefully selected for corrosion resistance and maximum durability in the harsh marine environment. Stainless steel bearings are used throughout. Special waterproof lubricant further enhances reliability. The instrument mounts on standard 1 inch pipe. Separate signal conditioning circuits are available to provide voltage or current signals when needed (see below). Each is supplied in a weatherproof junction box with mounting hardware.

Intrinsically Safe Wind Monitor

The intrinsically safe Wind Monitor-IS is a high performance wind sensor approved for use in hazardous areas.

The Wind Monitor-IS can safely be used in Class 1, Division 1, Group A,B,C,D hazardous areas.* The wind speed sensor is a four blade propeller. The propeller drives a reliable, non-contacting transducer. The wind direction sensor is a durable molded vane. Vane angle is sensed by a precision, long-life potentiometer housed in a sealed chamber. Internal circuitry converts signals for wind speed and wind direction into separate, 4 to 20 mA current outputs. The instrument is constructed of UV stabilized plastic with stainless steel and anodized aluminum fittings. The instrument installs on standard 1 inch pipe.

*Tested in accordance with Safety Standard UL 913, Intrinsically Safe Apparatus and Associated Apparatus for use in Class I, II, and III Division I, Hazardous (classified) locations. Must be properly installed with approved Intrinsically Safe barrier.

Wind Sentry

The Model 03002 Wind Sentry Anemometer and Vane are professional quality sensors suitable for a wide range of wind measurement applications. These economically priced sensors provide excellent sensitivity, corrosion resistance, and minimal parts count for easy maintenance.

The anemometer uses three lightweight hemispherical cups to measure wind speed. Cup wheel rotation produces an ACfrequency that is linearly proportional to wind speed. The vane employs a balanced vane assembly with vane position sensed by a long life precision potentiometer. Precision stainless steel ball bearings are used throughout.

The 86000 is fully wind tunnel tested and calibrated to provide accurate wind measurement over a wide operating range. The standard sensor includes many useful output options. Analog voltage outputs are provided for wind speed and wind direction. 4-20 mA current signals are available for each channel and are well suited for long cable runs or for industrial settings where noise immunity is important. A variety of serial output formats are also available. These include ASCII text, RMYT (compatible with YOUNG displays) and NMEA formats. The sensor installs on readily available 1 inch (IPS) pipe. Wiring connections are made in a convenient weatherproof junction box; special mounting adapters, connectors and cables are not required.

The Wind Tracker wind speed and wind direction indicator offers big performance in a compact display. 

Wind speed is displayed in your choice of units: KNOTS, MPH, KM/H, M/S. Maximum wind speed is also shown. Wind direction information is clearly displayed on a circular compass pattern of LEDs. Multicolored segments give a quick visual indication of current direction and variability. Front panel brightness control allows adjustment for best viewing in any light. A variety of inputs and outputs including 4-20 mA, Serial (RS-485), and Voltage are standard on the Wind Tracker. Alarms for both wind speed and wind direction are standard. The Wind Tracker is very compact for easy mounting on vertical bulkheads or wall surfaces.

Alarms for both wind speed and wind direction are included. The Marine Wind Tracker is very compact for easy mounting on vertical bulkheads or consoles. Model 06260 Protective enclosure offers extra protection for wet or dusty locations.
