IRIS 500 IRX2 Ex d:

The IRX2 viewing head is recommended for pulverized coal, oil, hydrogen, sulphide and other difficult waste fuel streams where ultraviolet light is absorbed. The IRIS IRX2 employs a new concept in infrared flame detection by utilizing a solid state infrared “two-color” sensor in conjunction with electronic circuitry that takes advantage of the high frequency-flicker characteristics of flames. The “two-color” sensor is composed of a unique “see-through” silicon photovoltaic front element and a lead sulphide photoconductor back element. The silicon element covers the spectral range from 350 nanometers to 1100 nanometers and the lead sulphide detector covers the range from where the silicon elements begin to roll-off, 1100 nanometers to 3000 nanometers. The signals from both sensors, after amplification, are added or mixed resulting in a very wide spectral range, that covers the entire visual range well into the infrared longer wavelengths. This new flame monitor is especially useful on those difficult applications, such as black liquor recovery units and lime kilns in the pulp and paper industry


This amplifier is suitable to be use with IRIS500 IRX2.
The IRIS 500 MAD Ex amplifier is composed of:

The amplifier is composed basically of motherboard and analogboard, but when discrimination is difficult, for example between adjacent and frontal flames, digital board is necessary because it will accurately define the flame-out ratio with respect to the burner and the adjacent or opposite burners. The flame signal can be an analog 0 – 20mA on analogboard or/and a four digit LED display on digitalboard.

IRIS 500MA Ex:

This amplifier is suitable to be use with IRIS 500 UV Ex flame scanner.

The IRIS 500 MA amplifier is composed of:

The flame signal can be an analog 0 – 20mA on analogboard.

The IRIS uniscan Ex is a fail safe flame monitor and amplifier, mounted completely into one enclosure. Its purpose is to monitor gas or oil flames in process heaters, or the smaller utility boilers. The operating voltage range is 18 to 27VDC, so that losses or fluctuations in the voltage have no effect within these parameters. The flame on output is a 24VDC signal. As well as gain and drop out time adjustments a high band pass filter with four positions is provided for better discrimination. A DIN rail mounting power supply module, to provide a 24VDC output from a 115/230VAC input is available if required. A commissioning module is also available. It is battery powered, and is capable of powering the UNISCAN on the boiler front for approx. one hour. This enables an evaluation on performance, without the need for separate power supplies and wiring.


IRIS 500UV Ex:

The ultraviolet viewing head is recommended for gas and oil flames. It consist of a gas discharge type sensor with a spectral response only in the UV region, approximately 185 to 300 nanometers with a peak response at 200 nanometers. The highest UV intensity occurs near the flame root (first 30% of the flame) but this zone of higher UV intensity does not overlap the same zone of adiacent or opposing burner so that, with proper sighting, discrimination is predictable.
